I saw Mr. Thomson about this; he had a good deal to say on the subject of which I understood little. The fact that I did understand was that he considers the Officer very slack.
He will be in town on 18th and 19th, and my suggestion is that one of these days be used for a conference on the subject. Possibly this could be managed with Mr. Gullich; Mr. Nicolle and Mr. Thomson could then be informed accordingly.
I understand Mr. Johnson will kindly discuss this with Gullich & Thomson.
